"My point in governmental issues was to get Britain out of the European Union," he said in a discourse illustrating the gathering's post-choice technique.
"That is the thing that we voted in favor of in that choice two weeks back, and that is the reason I now feel that I've done my bit, that I couldn't in any way, shape or form accomplish more.
"Thus I feel it's correct that I ought to now stand aside as pioneer of UKIP."
This is not the first run through the 52-year-old has surrendered as pioneer. In 2015, he quit the initiative after the general race, yet turned around that choice days after the fact.
"I won't alter my opinion again - I can guarantee you," he said.

Mr Farage has declined to underwrite a successor yet says he expects his trade will be set up for the gathering's fall meeting.
